BOPP Tape Jumbo Rolls

For light ecommerce and FMCG cartons, most converters run 36 to 40 micron total thickness. For heavier boxes, export cartons or recycled board, 45 to 49 micron holds better because the thicker film and extra adhesive take more strain. Our BT 01 to BT 05 grades cover 36 to 49 micron, and we can go up to 70 micron for special jobs. Tell us the carton weight and the tape width you slit, and we will suggest a grade.

It is the total thickness, i.e. BOPP film plus adhesive. For example, BT 04 is a 25 micron film with a total of 45 micron, so about 20 micron of that is glue. Many offers quote only the film, so always compare total with total before you compare rates.

Our jumbo roll is 1316 mm wide, of which 1296 mm is usable. The edges are trimmed during slitting because the coating is never perfectly even at the very edge. Plan your slitting on 1296 mm: it gives 27 rolls of 48 mm, 18 rolls of 72 mm or 54 rolls of 24 mm with no waste. If you would rather buy finished rolls, see our BOPP self adhesive tapes.

For most carton sealing, water-based acrylic is the safer choice, and it is what we coat on our jumbo rolls. Acrylic stays clear, does not yellow with age and keeps its hold in summer heat. Hot melt grabs faster on cold or dusty cartons, but it softens in heat and can yellow over time. If your cartons are packed in a very cold store, tell us and we will advise.

Yes. We print up to 8 colours by rotogravure, so a logo, a handling message or a full brand pattern is possible. The print repeats across the full width, so you can slit it into any roll width later. Send us your artwork, the tape thickness and the quantity on our contact page and we will quote.
