Rubber Based Adhesives

Choose rubber-based adhesive when you need strong grab at once, especially on foam, fabric, PE film and other hard-to-stick surfaces. Acrylic adhesive ages better under sunlight and heat, so it is the safer choice for outdoor or long-life jobs. Rubber adhesive also usually costs less for the same tack. Tell us the backing you will coat (cloth, foam, film, tissue or paper), your coating method and coat weight, and the tack, peel and shear you need. Also tell us the colour, transparent or white, and where the finished tape will be used. With this we can suggest a grade and send a sample for a trial on your own line.

Yes, our rubber adhesive is benzene free. It is still a solvent-based adhesive, so it is flammable and the fumes need good ventilation. Keep it away from open flames and sparks, keep the container closed when not in use, and give workers gloves.

Store it in its sealed container in a cool, shaded place, away from heat and flames. If the lid is left open, the solvent evaporates and the adhesive gets thick, which changes your coat weight. Stir well before use and use older stock first. Ask us for the shelf life of the grade you buy, as it depends on the formulation.

It can, if the tack is very high or the tape stays on a hot surface for a long time. For tapes that must come off cleanly, ask for a grade with lower peel strength. We adjust tack and peel to the job, so tell us whether the tape is permanent or removable.
